Nexus Arc privacy policy
How Nexus Arc accesses, processes, and stores data on your PC.
At a glance
Nexus Arc processes photos, videos, and metadata locally on the user's computer from an iPhone connected and authorized by the user. It does not require an account and does not intentionally send media files, settings, logs, or diagnostics to BlackSmith_Forge.
Who to contact
Nexus Arc is published by BlackSmith_Forge. For questions about the app, this website, or data handling, contact blacksmith.forge.hub@gmail.com.
Data controller: Federico Guerra, individual, Italy, publishing as BlackSmith_Forge.
Data the app accesses
When you start a scan or import, Nexus Arc may read photos, videos, filenames, dates, location metadata when present, and relationships among Live Photos, sequences, and edited versions. This information is used to show the library, apply your filters, and copy the media you select.
Processing and destination
Scanning, previews, supported conversions, and importing take place on the PC. Imported files are saved to the destination you choose and may be organized according to your selected options.
Local data and retention
Nexus Arc may store settings, preview caches, temporary files, local logs, diagnostic reports, scan manifests, and operation results in the app's local data area. Caches and temporary files are managed locally; logs and configuration remain on the PC until removed through Windows controls or by deleting the app's local data. Imported files remain in the folders chosen by the user.
Your choices and file security
You connect and authorize the iPhone, start operations, apply the available filters, and choose the destination folder. You can interrupt an operation with Stop. Importing does not delete originals from the iPhone or maintain an automatic synchronization between devices.
Imported media are ordinary Windows files, not a Nexus Arc-encrypted vault. Their protection depends on your Windows account, folder permissions, and device security. Existing GPS metadata in media may be used for grouping by place; this is not live location tracking.
You can inspect, copy, or delete files in your chosen destination. Close Nexus Arc and preserve any reports you need before deleting its local application data. Always verify imported files and an independent backup before deleting originals.
When you contact support
If you send an email, we receive your address, message, and any attachments you choose to share. These data are used to answer and follow up on your request. Reports can include file names and paths, metadata, device details, errors, and Windows diagnostic events: review them and remove unnecessary information before sending. Nexus Arc does not send them automatically.
Correspondence is handled through Google (Gmail). Support mailbox access is restricted to Federico Guerra. We keep emails for the time needed to handle the request and for up to 12 months after it is closed. Diagnostic attachments are deleted within 30 days of closure, even when the conversation text is retained longer. Legal obligations or disputes may require longer retention, limited to the data and period necessary.
A request is closed when it is resolved, withdrawn, or requires no further action; closure is communicated in the conversation. Do not send passwords, passcodes, or your entire library. Providing support data is optional, but without the necessary information we may be unable to resolve the issue.
Purposes and legal bases
We process data necessary for app support and pre-contractual enquiries to perform the contract or take steps you request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Answering other enquiries, maintaining website security, and protecting our rights rely on legitimate interests in providing a reliable service and preventing abuse (Article 6(1)(f)), subject to individuals’ rights. Processing required by law relies on Article 6(1)(c). We do not use these data for marketing, profiling, or automated decisions with legal effects.
Your rights over data we receive
For personal data you have sent us, contact blacksmith.forge.hub@gmail.com to exercise your rights under applicable law. Where the GDPR applies, these may include access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and portability, subject to the regulation’s conditions. If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
You can also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority, particularly in the EU country where you habitually reside, work, or believe an infringement occurred. Support cannot access files that remain exclusively on your PC; you can manage them directly on your device.
Visiting this website
The nexusarc.app website is hosted on OpenAI Sites with Cloudflare infrastructure. These pages do not add advertising trackers, marketing analytics, or forms for uploading your library. Hosting and security services process technical request information, such as IP address, browser, time, and requested page, to deliver and protect the website. Any technical security or authentication cookies are managed by the platform, not by the Nexus Arc app.
We do not maintain a visitor database or a separate copy of browsing logs. Platform retention of technical data depends on service delivery, security, and applicable obligations under the providers’ policies. You can contact us about processing associated with this website.
Recipients and international transfers
Necessary data pass through Google for email and OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare for hosting and security. Data may also be disclosed to authorities when required by law. These providers also operate outside the European Economic Area. Their policies describe applicable transfer mechanisms, including adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses; Google and Cloudflare also describe reliance on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We do not claim that all data remain in the EU.
